My First Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck:
A Hudson Valley Artist's Recap
There are moments in an artist's life when everything lines up, and this fall's Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck was one of them.
This was the first time the fair has returned since before the pandemic, and my first time exhibiting. A huge thank you to Rachel, Jennifer, Patrick, and the entire Country Living team for including me in such a wonderful group of vendors. I'm so grateful.
For me, this one was personal. I grew up in Kingston and Hurley, just across the river from Rhinebeck, so bringing the art I'm so passionate about back to the Hudson Valley felt important. It felt like bringing a special part of me home.
I wanted my booth to feel like the place it came from. I picked flowers from my parents' garden to display in my cast stone candleholders, and the whole thing felt so Hudson Valley, so personal, and so perfectly fall.
It was also a wonderful crowd to share my new work with. My new series, Interiors Made Exterior, has been getting some really exciting feedback, and your reactions fueled me. I can't wait to get back to my brushes and keep the series going once fair season quiets down.
Until then, there's more to come. I'm back at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds (Booth C 56) this weekend for Octoberfest, and I really hope to see you there. If you can't make it, keep checking my journal: this fall is full of news, including gallery shows, a book feature, and holiday markets!
